Cyril Aris' debut feature film 'Un mundo frágil y maravilloso' (A Fragile and Wonderful World) has been awarded the audience prize at the Venice Film Festival, SEMINCI, Arte Mare, and the International Mediterranean Film Festival of Montpellier. The film, Lebanon's candidate for the Oscars, follows Nino and Yasmina, born on the same day amid a tragedy in Beirut, over three decades of passion, heartbreak, and hope. It explores themes of roots, tradition, and the desire to leave a fractured country. Aris, a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences and a Columbia University MFA graduate, aimed to capture the duality of beauty and sadness in Lebanon. The cast includes Mounia Akl, Hasan Akil, Julia Kassar, Camille Salameh, Anthony Karam, and Nadyn Chalhoub. Produced by Abbout Productions, Diversity Hire, and Reynard Films, the 109-minute film is distributed by Adso Films.
