Cyprus Art Week Launches in Pissouri Village

The first Cyprus Art Week will take place from September 30 to October 5, 2025, in the coastal village of Pissouri, Cyprus. Organized by the local administration with support from the Ministry of Tourism, the festival aims to position Cyprus as a hub for responsible, culture-driven and ecological tourism. Over 100 artists will participate, with Italian curator Sveva Manfredi Zavaglia as artistic director and artist Mariia Plekhova among the organizers. The event is partnered with the Italy Media Art Festival and Rome Future Week. The program includes a collective exhibition at the Pissouri Multifunctional Cultural Centre, guided tours along the Aphrodite Trail, creative workshops, artist talks, ecology discussions, multimedia installations, and a Sunday Art Market. Closing ceremonies at the Pissouri Amphitheatre will feature performances, music, video mapping, and talks. Some events will also take place in nearby Agia Napa, Larnaca, and Limassol. The organizers hope to make the Art Week an annual recurring event, building a network of international galleries and cultural entities, and leaving permanent installations in Pissouri over time. This follows the launch of Cyprus's first art fair, VIMA Art Fair, in Limassol in May 2025, which featured about 30 galleries and nonprofit spaces from 10 countries, primarily from the Mediterranean and Middle East, as well as the US and Africa.
