Cyfest, major art and technology festival, arrives in Italy at the Reggia di Caserta

festival-fair · 2026-05-04

The 11th edition of Cyfest, a prominent festival of art and technology founded in St. Petersburg in 2007 and now itinerant, will conclude its tour at the Reggia di Caserta in Italy. The exhibition, curated by Anna Frants, Elena Gubanova, and Isabella Indolfi, features 13 artists working with interactive installations, kinetic sculptures, video projections, and artificial intelligence. The festival's theme, "Weather Forecast: Digital cloudiness," prompts reflection on technology's impact on life, human relationships, and the planet. Participating artists include Donato Piccolo, Alexandra Dementieva, Licia Galizia (with composers Michelangelo Lupone and Laura Bianchini), Elena Gubanova and Ivan Govorkov, Franz Cerami, Matilde De Feo and Max Coppeta, Daniele Spanò, Aleksey Grachev and Sergey Komarov, Maurizio Chiantone, and Anna Frants. The Italian team is building a network of partners across Campania, including the Regione Campania, Museo Madre, Città della Scienza, and Fondazione Banco Napoli. Collateral events include "My Toys / My Future," a children's workshop on recycling and robotic animation of old toys, designed in London with Tate Modern and Digital Maker. The festival celebrates 2018 as the "Year of Russian Culture in Italy."
