Cwmbran Celtic AFC Teams Up with Super Furry Animals and Mogwai for 2026/27 Kits

Cwmbran Celtic AFC, a Welsh grassroots football club, has partnered with four bands—Super Furry Animals, Panic Shack, Mogwai, and Loose Articles—for their 2026/27 season team kits. The bands' names will appear on the front of the men's and women's first-team home and away shirts. The initiative aims to raise funds for the club and support grassroots music venues, with 10% of profits going to Music Venue Trust, a UK charity established in 2014. The idea originated from joint commercial managers Connor Cupples and Matt Jarrett, who were inspired while having a drink at Carmarthen Town AFC. Both had previously worked with Super Furry Animals, who had appeared on a Cardiff City shirt in 1999. The Super Furry Animals, known for their giant inflatable bears, expressed enthusiasm for the collaboration. Loose Articles were the first band to sign on, followed by Panic Shack and Mogwai, who are Celtic fans and feature on the green-and-white men's away shirt. The club's men's first team debuted the shirts over the weekend. Profits from shirt sales will support the club's six senior sides, veterans, walking football, and junior setup. Matt Jarrett noted the parallel between grassroots football and music venues, both striving to attract audiences. Connor Cupples emphasized that both grassroots worlds are "fighting the same fight" and that the kit represents mutual support. Toni Coe-Brooker of Music Venue Trust praised the partnership as capturing grassroots culture.
