Curtain House by Johnsen Schmaling Architects in Milwaukee
Johnsen Schmaling Architects completed the Curtain House, a private residence on a narrow 24-foot-wide infill lot in Milwaukee's Lower East Side. The clients, long-time urban residents, purchased the property from the Milwaukee Department of City Development after a condemned house was demolished two decades prior. The 3,306-square-foot house was finished in 2023. The design team was led by Brian Johnsen and Sebastian Schmaling, with structural engineering by Core 4 Engineering.
