Current: A Collaborative, Nomadic Art Platform in Milan

Current is a new art platform founded by Marco Enrico Giacomelli, based in an ex-gallery at via Sant'Agnese 12, Milan. It aims to aggregate unclassifiable ideas and currents of contemporary creativity, emphasizing co-creation and collaboration over linear curation. The project draws inspiration from William S. Burroughs and Brion Gysin's cut-up technique, as described in 'The Third Mind' (1978), to combine disparate elements and generate unexpected outcomes. Current operates as both a physical exhibition space and a laboratory for experimentation, with plans to collaborate with Italian and international partners beyond Milan. The platform seeks to explore the ubiquity of new media and the blurring of dystopia and utopia in the present, referencing Philip K. Dick's prophecies. The initiative is part of the 'Osservatorio curatori' series on Artribune and was published in Artribune Magazine #31.
