Curitiba to Host MAC USP Extension in 2025 as Paraná Cultural Scene Gains International Reach

Curitiba will welcome a new branch of the Museu de Arte Contemporânea (MAC) in 2025, expanding the institution's presence beyond São Paulo. This development reflects the growing international impact of Paraná's cultural initiatives. Under the leadership of José Lira and Esther Hamburger, MAC USP is navigating its dual identity as both a university museum and a public institution. Ana Magalhães has recently assessed the museum's management, emphasizing its connection to artists. Concurrently, MAC USP and MAM-SP are presenting the joint exhibition "Zona da Mata." The museum is also showcasing a selection from its drawing collection in a new display.
