festival-fair · 2026-05-05

The ninth edition of Curated by_Vienna, a festival in Vienna, runs until October 14, 2017, featuring 21 galleries paired with international curators. The theme is "image / readings / text." For the first time, the festival includes performances, talks, film screenings, conferences, and musical events. Participating galleries include Galerie Steinek, Mauro Mauroner Contemporary Art, and Galerie Emanuel Layr. At Mauro Mauroner, Stefano Collicelli Cagol curates "Thinking Songs of Things," a show-as-poem inspired by José Lezama Lima's "Paradiso." At Galerie Steinek, Eva Fabbris curates "Live end dream no," featuring works by Miyamoto and Diego Marcon, whose film shows girls sleeping in Giuseppe Terragni's Casa del Fascio in Como. At Galerie Emanuel Layr, curator Beatrice Gross presents works by Erica Baum, Julien Bismuth, Marcelline Delbecq, Gina Pane, and Robert Stadler. A collective artist book with an essay by Delbecq will be launched in mid-October. The festival serves as a networking platform for local and international art professionals.
