#CUOREDINAPOLI: Social Media Project Promotes Neapolitan Culture
The #CUOREDINAPOLI project, launched in 2017, uses social media and public installations to foster a sense of shared territory and belonging in Naples. Coordinated by Franz Iandolo, professor of Integrated New Media Techniques and head of the NTA (Nuove Tecnologie per l'Arte) program at the Accademia di Belle Arti di Napoli, the initiative encourages residents and visitors to share daily life and traditions on Instagram. The project includes a physical heart installed in traffic lights, a pizza named after it, and annual festivals with stickers, posters, and light installations. In 2018, the festival took place on April 21 in the Quartieri Spagnoli, featuring music, performances, and local street food. The NTA program, which recently celebrated its tenth anniversary, also produced a documentary titled "La fine del mondo / A fine d’o munno," narrated by Renato Carpentieri, and launched on April 6. The project has supported events such as Scampia Music Fest 2018 and the Prix Italia award. On December 15, 2018, a new project called "Tanti eroi, un unico battito" will be presented in the Quartieri Spagnoli, along with the official launch of the #CUOREDINAPOLI app. The website cuoredinapoli.net allows users to dedicate a numbered heartbeat to a loved one. The project has also been presented at the Urban Center Metropolitano in Turin.
