Culture Action Europe meets in Rome to discuss cultural policy and sustainability

Culture Action Europe, a network of cultural organizations promoting arts and culture as structural elements of the European project, convened in Rome on October 4-5, 2013, at the Faculty of Architecture of Roma Tre University. The conference aimed to steer EU policies toward greater access to culture and innovative development, focusing on culture as an economic and social driver for recovery. The event featured a prestigious lineup including Italian Minister of Cultural Heritage Massimo Bray, Rome Mayor Ignazio Marino, Rome Culture Councillor Flavia Barca, world-renowned chef Heinz Beck, MEP Silvia Costa, Pascal Brunet of Relais Culture Europe, Artribune President Paolo Cuccia, Professor Pier Luigi Sacco, Philippe Fanjas of the French Association of Orchestras, Minister of Labour Enrico Giovannini, Secretary General Antonia Pasqua Recchia, and MAXXI President Giovanna Melandri. The network provides tailored information and analysis to member states and organizations, promoting awareness among political leaders. Sustainability was a key theme, framing cultural resources as fuel for regeneration, growth, and change through education and governance.
