Cultura Inquieta and Iberdrola launch video contest around 2026 solar eclipse with €3,000 in prizes

Cultura Inquieta, in collaboration with Iberdrola, has announced a video competition titled 'El eclipse de nuestras vidas' (The Eclipse of Our Lives), inviting participants worldwide to create original audiovisual works inspired by the total solar eclipse of August 12, 2026. The contest runs from June 26 to August 4, 2025, at 23:59 Spanish mainland time. The eclipse will be the first total solar eclipse visible from the Iberian Peninsula in over a century. Prizes total €3,000: €2,000 for first place and €1,000 for second. Entries must be posted on public Instagram or TikTok profiles using the hashtag #Eleclipsedenuestrasvidas and mentioning @culturainquieta and @iberdrola, or uploaded to a dedicated platform from July 7. Videos can be up to 3 minutes in any format (classic video, animation, stop motion, etc.). The editorial team of Cultura Inquieta will judge the entries. Winners will be announced on Cultura Inquieta's website and social media. Participants must be 18 or older and can submit multiple works. The contest is open internationally. Winners have 60 days to claim their prize; payment is made via bank transfer within 90 days of the official announcement. The contest is governed by Spanish law, and participants consent to the use of their data for contest management and, if winners, for prize delivery and tax obligations.
