Cuidar la Vida curatorial proposal selected for XIV BIAU in Brasília

The proposal titled "Cuidar la Vida" has been chosen for the XIV Ibero-American Biennial of Architecture and Urbanism (BIAU), scheduled to take place in Brasília in November 2026. Curated by a team of architects—Nuno Sampaio, Carlos Quintáns Eiras, Fernando Serapião, Luciana Saboia, Matheus Seco, and Daniel Mangabeira—it was selected from among five finalists. The jury commended the participation of both Brazilian and Portuguese organizations, including the Brazilian government, and highlighted the proposal's emphasis on architecture as a means of promoting life, while tackling issues of climate, health, and habitability. Brasília was recognized as an ideal venue due to its significance as a 20th-century architectural landmark. The main exhibition will travel beyond the November 2026 events. The BIAU is organized by Spain’s Ministry of Housing and Urban Agenda (MIVAU), the Higher Council of Architects of Spain (CSCAE), and the Arquia Foundation.
