Cuff Studio Founders Kristi Bender and Wendy Schwartz on Their Design Practice

Since 2008, Kristi Bender and Wendy Schwartz, the co-founders of Cuff Studio, a women-led design firm based in California, have been handcrafting sculptural lighting, furniture, and various objects. Their newest collection, 'Petal Promenade,' was unveiled at NYCxDESIGN and draws inspiration from both New York's rich history and their own archives. This fall, they will introduce a 'Pickleball Project,' marking a new venture for the studio. Bender and Schwartz, who have been partners for 18 years, attribute the inception of their collaboration to Kristi's home. Their best-selling items include the C Back Chairs and Rope Wrapped Globes. The studio is located in Los Angeles (Melrose Hill) and New York (NoMad), fostering an inclusive atmosphere. In their leisure time, they enjoy hiking, weightlifting, and watching television.
