CTA's Casa Mac annexe in Vietnam features cave-like curved roof

Casa Mac, an annex located in Phu My near Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, has been completed by the Vietnamese architectural firm CTA (Creative Architects). This structure features a dramatic, canopy-like roof adorned with scale-patterned bitumen shingles and a long skylight intersected by hanging perforated metal screens. Designed as an expansive living area that invites the outdoors, it is bordered by a vegetable garden and a koi pond. Co-founder Nguyen Thanh explained that the concept seeks to incorporate nature into the living environment while reducing conventional residential features such as walls and doors, creating a cave-like atmosphere. The interior showcases long exposed brick walls, with a slim block housing a restroom and bathroom accessed through tall arched openings. Green spaces and planters create zones within the central area, connecting lower living spaces to an elevated workspace and jacuzzi via steps. Stone steps cross the koi pond to a parking area featuring arched openings leading to the main residence.
