CSAC and Palazzo Pigorini Present Design Exhibition in Parma

exhibition · 2026-04-27

A design exhibition at CSAC in Parma, curated by Francesca Zanella, focuses on the creative process behind iconic objects from the 1960s and 1970s, rather than the finished products. The show features projects by renowned designers including Livio, Pier Giacomo, and Achille Castiglioni, Mario Bellini, Cini Boeri, Roberto Sambonet, Bruno Munari, Enzo Mari, Archizoom, Alberto Rosselli, and Roberto Menghi. A section titled 'Corpo e abito' explores the relationship between design and the body through video projections. At Palazzo Pigorini, artist Sissi presents works in dialogue with archival materials from CSAC, including creations by Sartoria Farani, Brunetta, Krizia, and Cinzia Ruggeri. Sissi produced three garment-sculptures: 'Tuta Linguale' inspired by Brunetta, 'Biomorfo' coat referencing Cinzia Ruggeri, and 'Antelamato' dress combining Krizia's research with Benedetto Antelami's 1178 sculpture in Parma Cathedral. Due to pandemic restrictions, the exhibition offers a 360-degree virtual tour via Parma Card and live talks on Facebook through May 19, featuring researchers, designers, and musician Mauro Sabione of Matia Bazar.
