Croatia selects Tina Gverović and Marko Tadić for 57th Venice Biennale pavilion
At the 57th Venice Biennale, Croatia's national pavilion will showcase fresh creations by artists Tina Gverović and Marko Tadić. Curated by Branka Benčić, the founding director of the Apoteka art space in Vodnjan, Croatia, the exhibition is titled Horizon Expectations. It will take place in the Arsenale buildings from 13 May to 26 November 2017. Organized by the Modern Gallery in Zagreb, the exhibition delves into themes of uncertainty, tension, and collapse, emphasizing the ephemeral quality of the exhibition space. Gverović, who completed her PhD at Middlesex University in London in 2013, incorporates various media in her installations. Tadić, a Zagreb-based artist, creates collages and installations that reflect on modernism's impact on art and architecture.
