Cristiana Perrella appointed new director of MACRO museum in Rome
Cristiana Perrella has been named the new artistic director of the MACRO museum in Rome, succeeding Luca Lo Pinto, who will depart at the end of 2024. The selection was made by a jury from Azienda Speciale Palaexpo. Perrella, born in Rome in 1965, serves as a curator and lecturer at Università San Raffaele in Milan. She led Centro Pecci until 2021 and curated Panorama in L'Aquila in 2023. Her professional background includes positions at The British School at Rome and Fondazione Golinelli. The application process opened in August 2024. Perrella intends to implement a comprehensive project that emphasizes accessibility and education, with various multidisciplinary events planned for autumn. Palaexpo president Marco Delogu also revealed upcoming initiatives to enrich the collection and library.
