Cristian Valsecchi resigns as Secretary General of Fondazione Torino Musei

institutional · 2026-05-05

Cristian Valsecchi has stepped down from his role as Secretary General of Fondazione Torino Musei, with his resignation taking effect in May 2018, ahead of his scheduled departure in October 2018, due to "new professional opportunities." This decision comes after a challenging time for the foundation, which included redundancy measures affecting 28 employees, somewhat alleviated by €350,000 in regional funding for the GAM library and a notable decline in visitor attendance in 2017. President Maurizio Cibrario plans to announce a new search for Valsecchi's successor. Both Cibrario and Turin's culture councillors, Francesca Paola Leon and Antonella Parigi, commended Valsecchi for his contributions and communication skills. Appointed in July 2014, he previously held the position of Director General at Palazzo Grassi and currently serves as Secretary General of AMACI and Sole Administrator of Artissima s.r.l.
