Crissy Zhang Design Renovates Melbourne Home with Arched Interiors
Crissy Zhang Design, based in Melbourne, has transformed the Parkhill residence, incorporating arched shapes and textured materials to create a serene environment. The 265-square-metre home’s layout was reimagined while preserving its original structure. Founder Crissy Zhang characterized the space as a modern dwelling that embodies 'softness, restraint, and a quiet, modern Parisian sensibility.' To enhance connections between rooms and soften the two-storey design, arched openings were introduced. Communal areas on the ground floor are visually interconnected, providing privacy for the study and library. Thickened walls feature sculptural niches with custom cabinets and recessed timber shelving. The use of tactile materials like limewashed walls and natural stone conveys a sense of grounded luxury.
