Cremona Dance Season Opens with Galli and Castellucci
The dance season 'Incanti' at Cremona's Teatro Ponchielli commenced with an emphasis on performance rooted in research. The preview in January showcased 'Sconfinamenti,' a duet by Nicola Galli and Rodrigo D'Erasmo that delves into the interplay of dance and music. Galli, a 34-year-old choreographer, danced in a vacant space illuminated by changing lights, while D'Erasmo contributed with electronic percussion that enhanced the composition. The season will conclude in May with 'La nuova abitudine' by Claudia Castellucci, performed by Compagnia Mòra, which first appeared at the Ravenna Festival alongside the Bulgarian choir In Sacris di Santa Sofia. Additionally, in April, Saburo Teshigawara will unveil the Italian premiere of 'Ophelia.' Compagnia Mòra, established in 2009, derives its name from Saint Augustine's concept of a musical pause.
