Creatures of Comfort exhibition at Odunpazarı Modern Museum explores nature through design until July 2025
"Creatures of Comfort," a group exhibition at Odunpazarı Modern Museum, showcases the work of 38 artists and designers who challenge Modernist aesthetics with nature-inspired creations. Curated by İdil Tabanca, co-founder of OMM, this exhibition marks the museum's fifth anniversary in Eskişehir, Turkey. Notable pieces include Chris Wolston's Nalgona Chairs, birchwood sculptures by Saelia Aparicio, and a living Mycelium Chair crafted by Eric Klarenbeek and Maartje Dros. The exhibition explores urban disconnection from nature, which is associated with worsening mental health. OMM director Defne Casaretto aims to "bring nature back into our living spaces." Following its conclusion in Eskişehir next year, the exhibition will move to Amsterdam and features works from artists like Hannah Levy, Mamali Shafahi, and Marc Quinn.
