CRA-Carlo Ratti Associati and Park Associati Lead Team to Redesign Brescia's Spedali Civili Hospital
A consortium led by CRA-Carlo Ratti Associati and Park Associati has secured the redesign contract for the Spedali Civili di Brescia hospital complex in Italy. The project, focusing on a concept by Angelo Bordoni, will integrate a "CareRing" design that emphasizes the connection between healthcare, nature, and the community. Plans include underground logistics and public spaces with therapeutic gardens. The newly designed Main Hospital and Children's Hospital will span an area of 60,500 square meters, featuring more than 745 beds constructed from a combination of timber and steel. Construction is slated to commence in 2028.
