Cowboy culture rides into Nairobi for International Cowboy Day

The second annual International Cowboy Day festival in Nairobi, Kenya, drew a growing community of cowboy and country music enthusiasts. The two-day event, promoted as 'the definitive cowboy and western lifestyle event in Africa,' featured cowboy-style fashion, line dancing, horseback riding, and live country music. Attendees participated in dance competitions, crowd-interaction games, and line dancing classes. Nigerian country singer Okogeri Ochiora, known as the Country Man, performed. Vendors displayed boots and western attire. The festival highlights the expanding following of cowboy culture and country music across parts of Africa, despite its North American roots.
