Couple Marries at 16th-Century Greek Castle Overlooking Ionian Sea

Amalia Kostopoulou and Jake Medwell exchanged vows at the New Castle of Pylos, a 16th-century fortress that overlooks the Ionian Sea in Greece. The pair, who were introduced by a mutual friend in Aspen and became engaged at the Centre Pompidou in Paris, chose Pylos for their destination wedding, close to the bride's childhood home near Athens. The weekend festivities kicked off with a beachside gathering at the Mandarin Oriental, Costa Navarino, which was fully reserved for their guests. A rehearsal dinner was held at a local taverna. The ceremony took place beneath trees at the castle, featuring the bride in an Elie Saab gown and the groom in a custom Anderson & Sheppard tuxedo. They incorporated both Jewish and Greek Orthodox customs, with a childhood friend officiating. After dining under the May full moon in the castle courtyard, the celebration continued at the Mandarin Oriental, featuring music from John of Rüfüs Du Sol and Augusto Yepes until 8 a.m. The wedding was orchestrated by Fay Vallidis, with jewelry provided by Ileana Makri and the cake crafted by Stelios Parliaros.
