Cosmopolitan Jungle Reunited at San Agustin Convent in Bogotá

The exhibition titled "Selva cosmopolítica reunida" (Cosmopolitan Jungle Reunited) is currently being showcased at the San Agustin Convent in Bogotá, Colombia, running until August 26, 2018. This event includes a variety of artistic expressions such as installations, drawings, collages, photographs, videos, and audio works by artists including Miguel Ángel Rojas, Ursula Biemann, Paulo Tavares, Miler Lagos, Abel Rodríguez, Carolina Caycedo, and the collective 4Direcciones (Diana Rico and Richard Decaillet). The artworks explore indigenous wisdom and connections to sacred lands while addressing the impacts of capitalist ecological destruction. Curated by Ana Belén Sáez de Ibarra and commissioned by the National University of Colombia's cultural heritage department, the exhibition was previously held at the Art Museum of the National University of Colombia. Highlights consist of Miler Lagos's "Nomads" (2014), Abel Rodríguez's "Tobacco, Coca, Yucca" and "Tree of Life" (2014), Carolina Caycedo's "Serpent River Book" (2017), and Ursula Biemann and Paulo Tavares's "Forest Law" (2014).
