Cosmesi Collective Fakes a Band at Drodesera Festival
At the 38th edition of Drodesera, a contemporary arts festival titled Supercontinent 2, Centrale Fies in Dro transformed into a musical club. Among the performers was Cosmesi, a collective founded by Eva Geatti and Nicola Toffolini, known for blending installation, theater, and performance. For the first time, they presented Cosmesi Fa Un Disco / Cosmesi Fa Un Live, a performative project where they acted as a band despite having no musical expertise. On July 25, they performed a live set of eight pop songs produced by Marcello Batelli (guitarist of Il Teatro degli Orrori), writing, playing, and singing without prior knowledge of music. The project included a vinyl LP released by Sangue Disken, pressed in a limited edition by Vinilificio. The vinyl is made of black cardboard, mimicking a real record but serving as a download code for digital music. The collective describes it as a theatrical work that mixes their skills with unfamiliar territory, creating a credible rock/pop band image. The performance will continue in clubs starting autumn.
