Cosimo Veneziano's Biomega Multiverso Merges Neuroscience and Nature at Serralunga d'Alba

exhibition · 2026-05-04

Cosimo Veneziano's exhibition 'Biomega Multiverso' opened at the medieval church of San Sebastiano in Borgo, part of the Tenuta Cucco estate owned by Fondazione La Raia in Serralunga d'Alba, Italy. The show is the latest chapter of the multidisciplinary Biomega project, initiated by Veneziano and farmer Filippo Racciatti to explore plant biodiversity with community involvement. For a year, Veneziano collaborated with the Department of Neuroscience at IULM University in Milan, studying biotechnology in agro-food contexts and consumer purchasing behavior through neuromarketing. Using an eye tracker, he recorded eye movements while subjects viewed advertising photos of fruits and vegetables, revealing how idealized images influence consumer choices. The resulting installation features serigraphs and embroideries on fabric based on these eye-tracking graphics. Fondazione La Raia president Giorgio Rossi Cairo stated the foundation supported the exhibition to continue its mission of fostering critical reflections on landscape transformation and the role of arts in guiding sustainable consumer choices. The exhibition was reviewed by Claudia Giraud for Artribune.
