cultural-heritage · 2026-04-26

Cortona's municipality, in partnership with MAEC and Accademia Etrusca di Cortona, has initiated 'Gino Severini a Cortona,' a year-long initiative commemorating the 60th anniversary of the artist's passing in 2026. This project, which won the PAC2024, encompasses a digital guide, a dossier exhibition, conferences, dance performances, and archive tours. A highlight will be the exhibition 'Giano-Culsans: il doppio e l’ispirazione etrusca di Gino Severini' at MAEC, running from March 29 to May 4, 2025, curated by Sergio Angori, Paolo Bruschetti, and Giulio Paolucci. Additionally, the program includes a series of conferences until June 13, 2025, and a dance performance scheduled for May 10, alongside summer workshops focused on mosaic art. Since 2021, MAEC has featured permanent rooms dedicated to Severini.
