Corrado Levi's Visual Diary at Galleria Artra in Milan

exhibition · 2026-04-27

Galleria Artra in Milan presents 'Colori e materie,' a solo exhibition by Corrado Levi (Turin, 1936), curated by Francesca Pasini. The show features drawings and woodcuts mostly created during the pandemic, alongside the video 'Diario dal virus' (2020), which documented the launch of his book 'Novità in casa – Virus' (Corraini Edizioni, 2020) at Libreria delle donne in October 2020. The 'Quaderni' series extends to April 2023, while the 'Serie quadri con pietre' (2010) includes four colored stones in plexiglass frames, free to move. The installation itself is considered a standalone work, with elements arranged to disrupt spatial norms: thin wires guide drawings diagonally, a broom leans against a column, a ladder remains open, and a plywood table is overturned as a minimal totem. Drawings on columns are positioned high, near the ceiling, as if gravity is inverted. The exhibition transforms the gallery space into a poetic, temporal constellation.
