Coronavirus Forces Mass Cancellations and Postponements of Global Art Fairs
Due to the global spread of COVID-19, numerous art fairs worldwide have been canceled or postponed. In March, Art Basel Hong Kong was canceled, TEFAF Maastricht closed early on March 11, and Design Shanghai Fair was moved to May 26–29. Art Fair Tokyo and MIA Photo Fair (Milan) were canceled or postponed. In April, miart (Milan) was postponed to September 11–13, Salone del Mobile (Milan) was canceled after a postponement, Art Brussels was rescheduled to April 2021, and Art Cologne to November 19–26. In May, Frieze New York and Artmonte-carlo were canceled; TEFAF New York Spring was moved to October 31–November 4. In June, Art Basel was postponed to September 17–20, and Masterpiece London was canceled. In September, NADA Chicago was canceled. In October, ArtVerona was postponed to December 11–13. The calendar is continuously updated.
