Cork House by studio bauform: A Corten-Clad Extension in Germany

architecture-design · 2026-05-16

Cork House, a 35 m² addition to a corten-clad single-family residence in Germany, has been finalized by Studio bauform. Lead architect Jürgen Lehmeier designed this project, which showcases a unique folded roof and incorporates materials from Durach, PREFA, and Ziro GmbH. Instead of overshadowing the existing building, the extension serves as a thoughtful extension and reinterpretation. The design team comprises Sebastian Freyer and Diana Dinkel, with energy consulting provided by Klotz Energy Consultant, structural engineering by Grella Hochbau, and construction oversight by Brigitte Müller. Photographs capturing the project were taken by Markus Vogt. The completion date for this project is set for 2025.
