Corgan Acquires Albany-Based WCGS Architects, Expanding Northeast Presence

On August 3, Corgan, a prominent architecture firm based in Dallas, revealed its acquisition of WCGS Architects, located in Albany, New York. This transaction was facilitated by Morrissey Goodale, a consultancy from New York. Scott Ruch, CEO of Corgan, remarked that this move positions the firm to enhance client service, explore new ventures, and foster growth in the Northeast. Established in 1938, Corgan employs over 1,400 staff across 23 global offices, including cities like Singapore, London, and New York City. Founded in 1981, WCGS Architects focuses on various development projects on the East Coast, Canada, and the Caribbean. Managing principal Pete Gillies stated that this partnership will strengthen their future prospects. This acquisition continues Corgan's expansion efforts on the East Coast, following the April purchase of FOX Architects and last year's acquisitions of Cooper Robertson and Dyer Brown & Associates.
