CopilotKit raises $27M for app-native AI agent deployment
Seattle-based startup CopilotKit has successfully secured $27 million in a Series A funding round, spearheaded by Glilot Capital, NFX, and SignalFire, aimed at introducing its toolkit for integrating AI agents into applications. The firm's open-source AG-UI protocol establishes a standardized method for AI agents to interact with user interfaces, allowing for dynamic features like interactive charts rather than static text. Supported by major players such as Google, Microsoft, Amazon, Oracle, LangChain, Mastra, PydanticAI, and Agno, AG-UI is experiencing millions of installations weekly. Among its enterprise clients are Deutsche Telekom, Docusign, Cisco, and S&P Global. Additionally, the company is set to unveil CopilotKit Enterprise Intelligence, a self-hosted solution, with co-founders Atai and Uli Barkai highlighting the importance of optionality and self-hosting to distinguish themselves from competitors like Vercel's AI SDK and OpenAI's Apps SDK. Currently, the startup employs around 25 people and intends to expand its workforce with the new investment.
