Copenhagen Art Week 2019: Chart and Enter Art Fairs

Late August sees the return of Copenhagen Art Week, signaling a revival in the global art scene post-summer. The week is anchored by two art fairs: the well-established Chart and the newcomer Enter Art Fair. Located at Refshaleoen, a transformed shipyard area, Enter Art Fair seeks to merge exceptional art with innovative digital experiences, appealing to both experienced collectors and younger visitors. It includes local galleries such as Alice Folk Gallery and Last Resort, alongside international names like Burster Galerie and Kukje Gallery. Each booth is accessible online year-round through a partnership with Artland magazine. Curated by Irene Campolmi, a series of talks and performances will delve into new technologies. Meanwhile, Chart, hosted at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts and Den Frie Centre, features 40 galleries from Nordic nations, with highlights including Ann Iren Buan's installation and a feminist group exhibition. The 2019 theme, 'materiality,' examines craft, tradition, technology, and physical engagement.
