Context-Agent Framework Models Dialogue as Dynamic Trees to Address LLM Limitations

A novel framework named Context-Agent has been unveiled to tackle key issues in the management of multi-turn conversations by Large Language Models. The common practice of viewing dialogue history as a simple, linear sequence does not align with the complex, branching characteristics of natural dialogue, resulting in poor context utilization and a loss of coherence during lengthy exchanges that involve topic changes or adjustments to instructions. Context-Agent conceptualizes multi-turn dialogue history as a dynamic tree structure, reflecting the non-linear nature of conversations and allowing the model to effectively manage various branches related to distinct subjects. To ensure thorough evaluation, the Non-linear Task Multi-turn Dialogue (NTM) benchmark has been created. This study, outlined in arXiv:2604.05552v2, proposes a structural solution to enhance LLM performance in language tasks.
