Contemporary Istanbul 2024 Opens with Spain and Latin America Focus
The 19th edition of Contemporary Istanbul, Turkey's leading contemporary art fair, is set to take place from October 24-27, 2024, with a preview on October 23 at Tersane Istanbul. This year, the fair will feature 53 galleries, including 21 prominent Turkish ones, in collaboration with Akbank. Spain and Latin America are highlighted in the guest country program, with a specific focus section dedicated to them. Among the notable participants are Andrea Rehder Gallery and Jorge Lopez Galeria. Curated by Juan Manuel Bonet, the main exhibition, "Born in the Seventies," will display 21 pieces from 15 Spanish galleries. Additionally, the Yard Outdoor Exhibition will present 19 artworks curated by Marc Olivier Wahler, while the CIF Dialogues conference will feature speakers such as Fatih Altaylı and Marc Olivier Wahler. The fair seeks to enhance Istanbul's status as a premier art hub, supported by various partners.
