Contemporary Cluster #07: Porn, Trap, and Biodynamic Fashion in Rome

Contemporary Cluster, a hybrid art space in Rome, presented its seventh edition (#07) with a three-floor exhibition blending pornography, trap music, and biodynamic fashion. In the basement, designer Erica Curci showcased her 'Ecdisi' laboratory, featuring bio-mutant materials designed as a second skin. On the ground floor, porn star Francesco Malcom (Malcøm X) exhibited his hardcore photographic archive for the first time, deliberately decontextualized and presented with the calm demeanor of a cultural presenter like Alberto Angela. The top floor featured Dark Pyrex, of the Roman trap group Dark Polo Gang, who curated the installation alongside Mexican street artist J. Demsky, presenting seventeen neo-futurist works described as vortex-like and magnetic, reminiscent of a mental loop. The exhibition celebrated voluptuousness, alteration, and dynamism in an intriguing body-mind ascension. The space itself is a 17th-century palazzo with a frescoed ceiling, contrasting with the contemporary content.
