Contemporary Ceramics Enter Rhodes' Historic Monuments in BCK Biennale 2026

On June 6th, 2026, the second Biennale of Contemporary Keramics (BCK) commenced in Rhodes, Greece, showcasing the creations of 42 artists hailing from 18 nations. The exhibition, titled 'Where the Day Starts,' is curated by Stamatia Dimitrakopoulou, Loukia Thomopoulou, and Anissa Touati, and will be open until October 31st, 2026, at various locations, including the Palace of the Grand Master and the Archaeological Museum of Rhodes. The event delves into themes such as memory, identity, migration, and transformation. Tülay Kulbay received the First Prize, while Elysia Athanatos and Lynn Kodeih earned Honorary Mentions. Lifetime awards were presented to Kostas Neofytou and Menandros Papadopoulos. Key pieces include 'Cône 7 sous le soleil' and 'A House Awaits.' Organized by Big Blue Dot NPO, it is co-organized with the Municipality of Rhodes and the Region of South Aegean.
