Contemporarte Photography Competition 2026

The University of Huelva's Cultural Area has announced a new edition of the Contemporarte photography competition, aimed at promoting and incentivizing artists within the university community to foster aesthetic and creative values in contemporary photography. The contest serves as a launch platform for national and international university creators. Eligible participants include students, teaching and research staff, and administrative personnel from all Spanish universities, as well as the university community of the invited country, Portugal. Recent graduates (since 2022/2023) and students over 16 from state art and craft schools may also apply. Entries must be submitted via the official website by September 25, 2026. Two prize categories are established: individual photography (maximum €700 gross) and series (maximum €1,000 gross). The jury will evaluate technical quality, innovation, aesthetics, concept, and narrative continuity. Winning works will be produced physically, added to the university's heritage catalog, and featured in a digital and physical catalog. The Cultural Area covers production costs. Participants must provide a valuation for their works, and prizes are subject to tax withholdings. Digital signatures via FNMT-RCM (Spain) or equivalent are required for prize documentation.
