Contemporanea 2024 Returns to Prato with Performances by Miet Warlop, Igor x Moreno
The Contemporanea festival of performing arts returned to Prato, Tuscany, after a year-long hiatus, running from September 27 to October 5, 2024. This year’s theme was "L'emozione prima della sommossa." Edoardo Donatini, the festival's artistic director, described it as a “collective effervescence” aimed at creating uplifting experiences, even from setbacks worthy of sharing online. The event showcased a mix of local and global artists like Miet Warlop, Marlène Monteiro Freitas, and Antonio Tagliarini. Notable performances included Chiara Dorliguzzo's "Dies Irae," featuring women of various ages, and Matteo Pecorini's "SI! I giorni felici," with three female characters. The Igor x Moreno company also presented "Karrasekare," inspired by ancient carnival traditions.
