Constellations Festival Returns to Toulon for 9th Edition

The Constellations festival, founded by choreographer Frank Micheletti, returns to Toulon for its 9th edition from September 18-22, 2019. The festival features dance, music, and performances, including a wooden coat by Aurore Thibout. Based at the 16th-century Tour royale, the festival also uses venues such as the Hôtel départemental des arts, théâtre Liberté, musée des arts asiatiques, école d'art, and Metaxu. This edition associates choreographer Camille Mutel, who highlights former Villa Kujoyama laureates like Thibout. Thibout, who won the public prize at the Hyères fashion festival in 2006, creates high-end clothing and collaborates with performers. For Constellations, she works with dancer Kaori Ito and clarinetist Benoit Bottex, presenting a garment previewed in an installation at the musée des arts asiatiques. Her work is also on view at Galerie Fibery in Paris until October 10, 2019. The festival, almost entirely free, attracts programmers and offers a growing quality panorama.
