Confindustria publishes book on Italian corporate art collections

publication · 2026-05-01

On May 6, 2024, at the Fondazione Sandretto Re Rebaudengo in Turin, Confindustria and its Gruppo Tecnico Cultura present "Il segno dell'arte nelle imprese. Le collezioni corporate italiane per l'arte moderna e contemporanea" (Marsilio Arte). The volume profiles 57 corporate collections of modern and contemporary art, featuring stories, images, expert testimonies, and interviews. Curated by Ilaria Bonacossa with an advisory board of Marianna Agliottone, Costantino D'Orazio, and Marilena Pirrelli, the book aims to map Italy's corporate art holdings and highlight companies' roles as cultural catalysts. Katia Da Ros (Vicepresidente per Ambiente, Sostenibilità e Cultura di Confindustria) and Antonio Alunni (Presidente del Gruppo Tecnico Cultura) are both collectors themselves—Da Ros with Irinox, Alunni with Fucine Umbre. The publication seeks to foster a new model of collaboration between industry and art, encouraging more companies to start collections. Alunni notes that art provides companies with an original worldview and strengthens community ties. Da Ros emphasizes that corporate collections are often young and unstructured, lacking dedicated staff, but the founding of a foundation signals greater organization. Both call for tax incentives to support art acquisitions and open corporate museums to the public.
