Conditions launches low-cost studio program for 12 artists in Croydon warehouse
Conditions, a new affordable studio initiative located in Croydon, UK, is now open for applications for its first year, commencing in October 2018. Launched by artist-educator Matthew Noel-Tod and artist David Panos, this program aims to tackle the escalating costs of studio space and education for artists in London. A total of twelve artists will be chosen to pay £230 per month for a year-long lease on a 140 square-meter warehouse at 89 Gloucester Road. The program will feature critical discussions and collaborative exhibitions, focusing on topics such as redefining contemporary art, collective decision-making, digital media engagement, and political representation. An Associates Group, comprising various artists, will contribute insights. The application deadline is August 15, 2018.
