Concéntrico 2026: Shade, Mist, and Autonomy in Logroño
The 12th edition of Concéntrico transformed Logroño into a living architecture lab in June 2026. Since 2015, the festival has resisted conventional exhibition formats by building full-scale installations in streets, plazas, and vacant lots, integrating residents into daily urban life. This year featured over twenty interventions by architects, designers, and researchers from diverse geographies and methods, all reimagining public space. The program was organized around three curatorial lines: Identity and Fiction (treating architecture as narrative recovery), Ephemeral Agents (temporary structures for social encounter), and Urban Ecologies (addressing climatic and material conditions). A notable installation, "Shade, Breeze, Cooling" by NOOF Group, explored artificial cooling through shade and mist, reflecting the Urban Ecologies theme. The festival continues to position itself as a citywide experiment in participatory design.
