Compass: AI System Aligns Social Media Feeds with Reflective Preferences

Researchers have introduced Compass, a system designed to continuously align social media recommendation feeds with users' reflective preferences. The system addresses the common issue where feeds optimize for immediate impulses rather than long-term preferences. Compass uses lightweight notifications to prompt in-situ reflections during browsing, helping users articulate their preferences based on their behavior.
