COMO Le Beauvallon Reopens Near Saint-Tropez as Art-Filled Belle Époque Resort

COMO Le Beauvallon, a Belle Époque mansion near Saint-Tropez, has reopened as a 42-room hotel after extensive restoration by the Hong Kong–based Hwang family. Commissioned in 1914 by brothers Émile and Edmond Bernheim, the property once attracted guests like Colette, Winston Churchill, and Audrey Hepburn, who filmed 'Two for the Road' there in the late 1960s. The hotel now showcases over 300 works of largely Asian contemporary art and collectible design, including pieces by Ron Arad, Zheng Lu, Xia Hang, and Antonio Fiorentino. The beach club, Beauvallon sur Mer, designed by Dorothée Delaye, features a restored Belle Époque tunnel and a 1920s rotunda, with menus by Yannick Alléno blending Mediterranean and Chinese flavors. A relocated 2002 Serpentine Pavilion by Toyo Ito and Cecil Balmond serves as a private gallery. The hotel offers sea-view suites, a mosaic-tiled pool, a winter garden restaurant, and a COMO Shambhala spa. Guests can reach Saint-Tropez or Ramatuelle beaches via private boat in eight minutes.
