Community-Led Light Installation Transforms Ruvo di Puglia
For the second consecutive year, the town of Ruvo di Puglia has launched 'Luci e suoni d'artista,' a community-driven Christmas light installation that illuminates the historic center from December 7 through the end of January. Over 200 local residents participated in designing, building, and installing the luminaries, coordinated by cultural associations. Scenographers, designers, and creatives handled the artistic direction, while technicians and electricians set up the infrastructure, and photographers and communication experts managed graphics. The centerpiece is a large boat-shaped structure in the main square. The theme of 'equilibrium and vertigo' inspired the lights, evoking tightrope walkers, Philippe Petit, Wim Wenders' 'Wings of Desire,' and Italo Calvino's 'Invisible Cities.' The project was supported by the Municipality of Ruvo di Puglia, the Assessorato alla Cultura, with patronage from Regione Puglia and Puglia Promozione.
