Comicon 2022 Returns to Naples After Two-Year Hiatus

festival-fair · 2026-04-27

After a two-year pandemic pause, Comicon – International Pop Culture Festival returns to Naples for its 22nd edition from April 22 to 25, 2022, at the Mostra d'Oltremare exhibition center. The festival, which set a visitor record in 2019, will feature a poster by legendary comic artist Frank Miller, colored by Italian talent Emiliano Mammucari. Miller's artwork pays homage to Naples with a reinterpretation of the Pulcinella mask. Star Comics will release a special double edition of One Piece #100, celebrating the manga's global success with over 490 million copies worldwide. Notable guests include Frank Cho, Emmy Award-winning creator of Liberty Meadows and Marvel artist, appearing thanks to Saldapress. Davide Toffolo, comic artist and frontman of Tre Allegri Ragazzi Morti, will serve as 'magister' with two exhibitions: a retrospective of his work and a curated show on adolescence in Italian comics. The band will close the festival with a live concert on April 25, performing songs from their upcoming 2022 album.
