Come Together: Surviving Sandy, Year 1 Benefit Exhibition Opens in Brooklyn
On October 20, 2013, Phong Bui, the artist and publisher behind The Brooklyn Rail, is hosting a benefit exhibition titled Come Together: Surviving Sandy, Year 1, marking the one-year anniversary of Hurricane Sandy. The exhibition showcases the work of over 300 artists, with half having been directly affected by the hurricane, emphasizing a theme of unity. Bui himself suffered significant losses, including years of work and much of The Brooklyn Rail's archives, due to flooding.
