Côme Mosta-Heirt's Dual-Site Sculpture Exhibition in Lyon and Villeurbanne
On January 26, 1999, French sculptor Côme Mosta-Heirt presented his work simultaneously at two venues. First, in a private apartment in Lyon, where his volumes transformed the space without decorating it. Hours later, at Galerie Verney-Carron in Villeurbanne, the formal brutality of the sculptures assumed a different presence. Mosta-Heirt treats wood as a living body, transformed, polished, and coated with multiple layers of black lacquer inhabited by red. This refusal of beauty and the energy to remake it also inspire his films and writings.
